Citizens and planning offices across Germany have come up with numerous ideas that would give their region access to regenerative sources of heat and electricity, but many of the municipalities lack the personnel and expertise to implement them. With the project “100ee regions”, an institute intends to help municipalities supply all of their energy themselves. The initiators advise local players and help link the municipalities with the surrounding area, which has a lot of space to generate green energy for urban residents.
