What would a metropolis like New York City be without its skyscrapers? It is only the vertical extension that makes the Big Apple truly big. The same applies to aponix, an innovative urban gardening system. Vertical plant containers enable profitable vegetable growth in cultivation areas measuring less than 1000 square metres. Those who use the green containers promote sustainability: there is room for more plants, yet water consumption decreases by 90 percent. Pesticides aren't needed. Moreover, the modular connection system enables several containers to be linked. The project opens up new possibilities for food production.
