Crisis simulation TEAMWORK
Playing for emergencies
Researchers are developing software-based training for disaster control and volunteer helpers
Flooding, fires in buildings, attacks: most people in Germany are not prepared for crisis events like these. To improve the situation, scientists at the University of Paderborn - C.I.K. and partners developed Serious Game TEAMWORK. With the software, disaster control staff and volunteer helpers will be able train for emergencies in the future. How should I behave in certain danger situations? How can I use resources efficiently? TEAMWORK simulates (training) exercises without much effort, based on 3D geodata. Subsequently participants discuss how the crisis can be overcome in the virtual world online, thus developing new solution strategies for real operations.
