Cyber-physical equivalence – intelligent production control
How data become products
The Fraunhofer Institute is conducting research on control tools for industry 4.0 manufacturing processes
Digitisation and interlinking of industrial manufacturing processes promises greater flexibility and efficiency. At the same time, tools are needed for the increasingly elaborate production control. With its cyber-physical equivalence project, Fraunhofer researchers create a visual depiction of production in real time, thus making it easier to understand and control it. The project makes use of visual computing technologies for intelligent production control in networked factories. As a result, processes can be changed flexibly and the likelihood of production downtimes is reduced.
