Tomorrow’s energy supply is green and decentralised. But what exactly does it look like? innogy is developing the blueprint for a safe and efficient energy system of the future together with 46 partners from industry, municipal utility associations, and research and academe. Its DESIGNETZ project covers three German states and is particularly diverse: solutions are being researched in a wide range of areas – from information and communications technology (ICT) to storage solutions and network innovation, as well as systems for connecting the energy sectors. Once they have passed the practical trial, DESIGNETZ assembles the individual components into the energy system of tomorrow – for the whole of Germany and beyond.
