Digital mentoring programme
The web needs new heroes
Young people become digital mentors and give pupils advice about cybermobbing and data protection on the Internet
Every seventh young person has been mobbed on the Internet. The attacks range from exclusion from chat groups and publishing of embarrassing photos to so-called hate websites. Digital heroes are in demand. In online courses, 8th to 10th grade pupils are trained to advise younger pupils about issues such as data protection, photo copyright laws, and cyber mobbing. Experts assist them in emergencies. The objective of the project is to enable the young people to help themselves. The initiative teaches youth to solve problems on the Web and to critically engage with the opportunities and risks of the Internet.
