Many people who live in rural areas cannot get to work, go shopping, or go to the movies without having their own car. More than half of all households in the Eifel region have at least two. Reason enough for LEADER Region Eifel to call E-ifel mobil into being. In five villages, citizens share an electric car and Pedelecs. During the test phase, local energy providers and the district administration provide the cars free of charge. Subsequently the model is intended to be self-financing. The result: more and more people in the highland area are discovering that e-car-sharing is worthwhile both for their household budget and for the environment.
