enera – decentralized energy provision in a practical test
Blueprint for the energy turnaround
With the help of intelligent technologies, the energy system of a model region is being made fit for the future
How can a static electricity network be converted into a flexible, decentralized energy supply system? To show how this can work, 75 partners in north-western Lower Saxony - companies, research institutes, and local authorities - teamed up on the project enera. The aim is to test intelligent electricity networks and markets, storage, communications, and technologies of consumption on this scale for the first time with a great deal of wind energy fed into the grid. Intelligent measuring systems replace three-phase electricity meters and help make electricity generation and consumption more transparent for efficient control.
