From urban oases of peace, to electric busses, to advertising-free cityscapes - the list of idea to ensure that Lüneburg remains a very liveable city in the future is long. The visions of the project "Future City Lüneburg 2030+" are ingenious: students and teachers of Leuphana University Lüneburg, committed citizens, and the city's administration discuss how the United Nations' sustainability goals can be interpreted and implemented locally at podium discussions and workshops devoted to the future. The topics include fighting poverty as well as alternative energy concepts. The feasibility of some visions is subsequently to be examined and then tested - so that Lüneburg is fit for a sustainable future.
