Large groups of companies have long been aware of the great opportunities that digitisation offers industrial production. Things are more difficult for small and medium-sized businesses. The Frauenhofer IAO is presenting solutions in a Future Work Lab that in the future could be of interest precisely to smaller and midsize companies. Examples are drones that transport spare parts through workshops, robots that carry heavy loads for their human colleagues, and work tables which adapt to the individual needs of their users regarding height and lighting. As a consequence, the opoen laboratory is paving tghe way for companies and their employees to Industry 4.0.
