HumanX 3D training simulation
The hip bone from the printer
Bone and organ models from a 3D printer make it possible to plan and perform operations better
From toys to motor screws, modern 3D printers produce all kinds of plastic objects. The HumanX project uses the three-dimensional copies for medicine. On the basis of imaging procedures such as CT and MRT, anatomic models are created that replicate organs or bones with muscle and skin tissue true to the original. They can be used, for example to plan especially difficult surgical procedures better. The 3D models can also be employed to train medical students and to speed up innovations.
