They've been neighbours for more than 100 years: the University of the Arts and the Technical University Berlin. Yet the universities were long far away from one another in terms of their curricula. But the joint initiative Hybrid Platform shows how well art and science and can stimulate one another. Founded in 2011, it promotes cooperation across disciplines. Courses and research projects are initiated and researchers, artists, and companies interlinked. Whether it is a new composite material or an app that people can use to enter their mood in a certain place - the initiative demonstrates how neighbours can work together to come up with new ideas and creative solutions.
