HygNova Medical – intelligent infection protection for hospitals
No power to germs
A digital programme motivates hospital staff to disinfect their hands in an intelligent way
Up to 15,000 patients in Germany die from hospital infections each year. The essential factor in the fight against multiresistant germs is hygiene. With a new approach HygNova Medical makes it easier for hospital staff to take the necessary precautionary measures: a tablet in the room asks nurses and doctors to disinfect their hands by sending light and sound signals. Those who degerm are rewarded - for example, with a financial bonus or virtual praise. Moreover, sensors record disinfections that have been carried out, thus providing more transparency. The aim of the start-up HygNova is to reduce hospital infections by up to 68 per cent.
