Information centre Hesse: religious tolerance instead of extremism
Tolerance is in demand
An advisory centre creates a strong network to curb religious extremism and to accompany dropouts
How can religious tolerance be promoted in the neighbourhood? What can parents do to prevent their children from becoming extremists? The Hesse-based advisory centre of the Violence Prevention Network banks on prevention and a strong network. For instance, pupils learn in workshops how to encounter different cultures and religions. Family members, friends, communities, institutions, and interested people are advised and sensitised. Another aim is to establish contact with young people who run the risk of embracing extremist ideas. And the employees of the advisory centre accompany youth that want to leave radical groups.
