Innovation Centre (InnoZ): Living Lab for energy and mobility networks
City of the future in test mode
In the Living Lab, the intelligent city of tomorrow comes to life with networked mobility and energy
Transport infrastructures and electricity networks are the lifeline of cities. InnoZ’s Living Lab in Berlin shows today what mobility and energy provision could be like tomorrow. The organisation is currently testing a “Micro Smart Grid”, an intelligent mini electricity network for urban areas. The ingenious idea: electric cars store wind and solar energy, thus taking the burden off of electricity networks. Another innovation is “electromobile” mobility cards, which serve as bus and train tickets, car-sharing member cards for hybrid and electric automobiles, and tickets for city bicycles.
