International encounters between deaf and hearing people
Listen to the silence
Deaf and hearing people meet for international exchange
Does each country have its own sign language? How do people talk to each other without words? Hearing people learn a lot about the world of silence when they interact with the deaf. ‘Listen to the silence!’ is in fact the slogan of the event series that brings people with and without disabilities together across borders. Young people from Germany, the Czech Republic and Malta have come together for these meetings in their home countries regularly since 2016. Together they go on excursions, or explore the world of communication without words – from photography to pantomime and sign language.
