Poverty is often a vicious circle. The “home for children and youth” set itself the task of combatting it. Under the motto “Helping where otherwise no help is offered”, 30 children from disadvantaged families in Munich-Ramersdorf receive more than a hot lunch and help with their homework after school. Joint activities such as cooking, sports, music, and excursions boost their social skills, confidence, and creativity and help them become integrated in the neighbourhood. But what is truly special in the home is the individualized care. Teachers and honorary reading tutors cater to each child and their special needs.
