Journey around the world in the living room - a project promoting international understanding
To Rwanda on the sofa
Immigrants invite people to their homes and talk about themselves and their native countries
Peru and Iraq are right around the corner. In "World Trip Through the Living Room", people who were not born in Germany open their homes as enclaves of their native country for two hours. In a family environment, they tell up to ten "travellers" about their lives and their country of origin. Thanks to the programme, people get closer, prejudices are overcome, and friendships are made. This promotes mutual understanding and strengthens the relationship between different cultures in the city. After each trip, the visitors' even receive a stamp in their world trip passport.
