Kinderheldin – Digital midwife services
Chatting with the midwife
A start-up provides advice on pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding via chat and phone
In some large cities and rural areas it is difficult to find a midwife to advise pregnant women and young parents. The start-up Kinderheldin (‘children’s heroine’) aims to provide a digital solution. Trained midwives offer quick and qualified advice on urgent and general questions of pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding – by phone or online chat, and even in the evening, at weekends, and on public holidays. By providing this service for a fee, Kinderheldin offers a better alternative to dangerous superficial knowledge gleaned from the internet, combines a traditional profession with the possibilities of digital technologies, and contributes to women and children’s healthcare.
