Many products are manufactured at more than one location around the globe. This presents companies with the challenges of adapting their processes, and training their staff for this worldwide division of labour. The Lernfabrik Globale Produktion (Global Production Learning Factory) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology provides assistance. The research and training centre equipped with assembly stations works with learning factories in China to simulate the production of electric motors. Students and employees get to know the workflows of digitised, globally networked production in a very hands-on way. This helps them and the companies to master the challenges of globalisation, together.
