Master instruments for children
Playing first violin for free
Craftspeople build musical instruments for young up-and-coming musicians
Some children have music in their blood from a very young age. For their talent to fully unfold, they need high-quality instruments. But most of them are expensive. The non-profit association conTakt-junior seeks to promote young musicians whose parents don't have much money. Thirty-three violin and bow makers from across Europe make master instruments which they lend to children free of charge. To be able to play one of the violins, cellos, or violas, young talents aged nine to 13 can apply online. An expert jury chooses the most promising candidates.
