Mecuris – 3D-printed protheses and orthoses
Protheses and orthoses from the printer
With the help of 3D prints patients can be provided with made-to-measure protheses
Whether it's orthopedic splints or an artificial leg, more and more human "spare parts" come from printers. While orthopedic technicians used to take a plaster cast from customers to make a prothesis, today a replacement can be produced digitally. With the help of a Cloud-based software developed by the startup Mercuris, photos, 3D scans, and CTs can be used to quickly give patients customized care. Together, experts and patients can adapt it digitally based on the patient's wishes. Then the 3D design is transferred to a printing centre and produced, and the tailormade prothesis is finished.
