Medical containers for refugees
Translators from the Internet
A video interpreting service improves understanding between doctors and patients in mobile offices
Steel on the outside, high tech inside: RFRC medical containers look like simple building containers. But they house doctor's offices with Internet connections via which intepreters can be hooked up live. As a result, a problem is solved that doctors are confronted with on a daily basis: the many different languages spoken by refugees. It takes a long time to find a suitable translator. Via the video interpreting service SAVD people who translate into some 50 languages are at the ready. The social entrepreneur MLOVE developed the medical container together with Cisco and partners such as avodaq. The project is sponsored by the Dorit & Alexander Otto foundation and supported by the German Red Cross, Hamburg-Eppendorf University Hospital, and the City of Hamburg.
