Mobile therapy control for chronic heart failure
Therapy monitoring via the Internet
A sensor enables heart patients to be monitored from afar
At home instead of in the hospital – thanks to telemonitoring. Patients suffering from chronic heart failure are benefitting from a new development of the Berlin research institute Laser- und Medizin-Technologie GmbH. A sensor controls the water level of their skin and sends the values online to the attending physicians. If the levels rise, this a sign of insufficient cardiac output, and in cases of doubt intervention is required. With telemonitoring technology, people who live in rural regions don’t have to be brought to faraway hospitals but can stay at home.
