The production system is reminiscent of a bumper car at an amusement park, but without a driver. In the factory autonomous robot cars transport car bodies from one station to the next, where they are equipped with different components. Instead of carrying out all of the production steps according to the proven assembly-line principle - always in the same sequence and speed - the robots automatically head to a free station. Modular manufacturing is a new solution developed by the start-up arculus. It reduces the logistics and product costs and in the future should make it easier to manufacture cars in accordance with customers' individual wishes.
