Nano velcro fastener for electronic components
Velcro fastener for microchips
With a kind of grass from nano wires electronic components can be combined without soldering
Electronic devices are becoming ever smaller and more powerful. In their interior, several chips are stacked on top of one another. Usually they are glued or welded together. But the metal alloys needed reduce their performance and melt at higher temperatures. The start-up NanoWired has developed a method whereby nano wires can be attached like turf on electronic components. When the two are pressed together, the wires interlock like a velcro fastener. The link is durable, heat resistant, and extremely conductive. This opens up new bonding possibilities not only in the electronics industry.
