NatuRaum – the innovative tech lab in the country
Barnacle, fish, blossom & co. as models
Young people from cities and the country learn how to tap nature for successful inventions
A Velcro fastener modelled on the barb-like antennae of barnacles. Swim fins that enable us to glide through the water like fish. Or façade paints from which dirt peels off the way it does from a lotus blossom. Many successful inventions have been modelled on nature. The student learning laboratory NatuRaum of the Biomimicry Association Germany shows how clever ideas from nature can be used to develop innovations. In workshops and readings, young people from Berlin and Brandenburg learn how to discover natural treasures. Together, they research how the environment can serve as inspiration for creative ideas.
