NETZ-E-2-R: interconnected mobility for the Stuttgart region
Electric bicycles permit clean mobility in rural areas
A new system for lending e-bikes gives daily commuters flexibility and an environment-friendly mobility option
The bus doesn’t come often enough and it’s too far to go on foot – even for environmentally conscious commuters in rural areas, the car is often the only possibility to get to the next train station. The “Sustainable Mobile Region Stuttgart“ (NAMOREG) is offering a solution with e-bike rental stations at many railway stations in the region. The highlight: at an inexpensive rate, people can ride an electric bicycle home after work and bring it back the next day. The different stations all belong to one network, so the bikes can be returned at different places, making them attractive for free-time users. The offer makes rural mobility simpler and more environment-friendly.
