The ZEITSCHRIFT DER STRASSE in Bremen is different from other street newspapers. While it is sold by poor people, the idea behind it goes further: The texts, photos, layout, and marketing are done by journalism, design, and business students. The result is reading material with an attractive design which in each issue sheds light on a different street in the city. Moreover, the newspaper brings people together who otherwise wouldn’t have much in common, to the benefit of all. Students get practical experience, needy people earn money, and solidarity is promoted in a big city.
