Why go far afield when a village can promote it’s own forestry? That was what the carpenter Rolf Rombach thought when he got the idea in 2009 to build buildings exclusively out of natural wood from the Black Forest – with no glue and no metal. The concept could be implemented with a woodscrew specially developed by the company based in Oberharmersbach. Today, many single-family homes, day-care centres, and office buildings across the region rely on the inexpensive, ecological, and completely recyclable massive wood system “NUR-HOLZ”, which means “only wood”. Local foresters are particularly happy about the development.
