Whether it's about chopping down trees on a boulevard or building a new all-purpose hall: municipal authorities should make decisions as transparently as possible. To this end, the Open Knowledge Foundation developed the "Politics with us" advisory information system. It makes administrative data available for the development and implementation of citizens’ information platforms. With the help of this open system, enquiries and resolutions can be researched easily, provided that the respective municipal authority publishes the data under a free license. This makes politics transparent and encourages participation.
