Onlinerland Saar educational initiative
Saarland is now “onliner” land
A Germany-wide initiative teaches the 60+ generation to use digital technology
Grandma, you have to google this. "I'll email you an invitation." The Internet is virtually indispensable nowadays. Yet not everyone uses it. Sixty per cent of the 60+ generation uses the Internet only rarely or not at all. The initiative Onlinerland Saar wants to make people fit for life in a digital society. And it's been a smashing success. Since 2004, more than 40,000 participants have taken advantage of the initiative's offers. Across Saarland, they learn how to communicate, shop, carry out safe financial transactions, and use health portals on the Internet.
