Open Roberta – learning programming playfully
Programming is child's play
With an open graphic programming platform, pupils gather their first programming experiences with no technical obstacles
Subjects such as maths, technology, and science often meet with little enthusiasm on the part of pupils. The Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems IAIS intends to change things. With the open graphic programming platform “Open Roberta”, young people can bring robot models they have built themselves to life. Operation is easy via the Internet browser. Hence teachers can use the platform in school classes with no technical obstacles. To attract girls to IT professions, female students also program within the framework of the open source activities of Open Roberta.
