People who always want to have state-of-the-art technology have to invest a lot in hardware. But an old device is sufficient to participate in society. The founders of the PC-Tafel organisation came to this realization and ever since have ensured that discarded computers, printers, and mobile phones do not become electrical waste too early. Repaired, equipped, and provided with up-to-date software, donated devices are passed on to needy people free of charge. The project enables socially disadvantaged people to benefit from the advantages of digitisation and at the same time protects the environment.
