Until now, designing and building a display has been the domain of specialists. The Saarbrücken excellence cluster "Multimodal Computing and Interaction" now enables laypeople to create a display using a print screen method. Rather than equipping prototypes with cumbersome monitor modules, creative people can design and print out an individualized display - on paper, leather, wood, or plastic. This is made possible not only by novel mobile end devices, but also by innovative applications such as smart packaging, smart paper, smart signage, and wearables.
