Professional Test MYSKILLS for Jobseekers
Digital skill-assessment as springboard for employment
A novel computer test helps people lacking German vocational qualifications to enter the labour market
Millions of people who live and work in Germany are officially considered “low-skilled, ” sometimes only because they have no proof of their professional capabilities. Moreover, refugees arrive each year who have worked in their home countries but who have no official credentials to evidence their experience. The MYSKILLS test, an initiative of the Bertelsmann Stiftung and the Federal Employment Agency, solves this problem with computer-based competency tests for thirty professions. The tests reveal which skills and knowledge a person actually has and where there is need for improvement. Based on the results, job centres and employment agencies can arrange appropriate jobs or further training. Available throughout Germany, the MYSKILLS tests are offered in six languages.
