“Pupils discover design” workshops
Design workshops throughout Germany
Children are taught design at workshops across Germany
Why are cups round and not rectangular? How is a chair made? In the German-wide workshops of the German Design Museum Foundation, children and youth learn the ABCs of design. The foundation goes to rural regions equipped with mobile workshops. Renowned experts show the children how much design there is in everyday items. And the kids can even design and build prototypes of objects themselves and thus get initial insight into practical design work. The workshops strengthen the children’s inventiveness and promote their aesthetic judgment.
