querstadtein – Homeless persons and refugees as city guides
I used to live under this bridge…
Former homeless people and refugees become city guides and open up new perspectives for visitors
Which railway station offers protection from the cold? Which public places are pleasantly quiet? Where can I get a free meal? Homeless people see their city with different eyes. The city guides at querstadtein used be homeless. Now they show visitors the places where they once lived. Refugees also work for querstadtein, and share their perspective on their new hometown. These slightly different city tours of Berlin and Dresden are meant to make people aware that everyone has their own life story that should be respected. A project that promotes mutual understanding, dialogue, and a sense of community in cities.
