Quinoa – donation-financed private school
After school things really get going
A private school financed by donations helps young people launch careers after they finish school
In the Wedding district of Berlin, many young people live in households that survive from unemployment benefits. Only very few manage to break the cycle of poverty. The founders of the donation-financed private school Quinoa want to change things. To this end, they work together closely with local institutions, initiatives, and companies. Only those who can afford it pay school fees. Four years after finishing tenth grade, at the latest, each pupil should have finished training or have attained university entrance qualifications. Mentors accompany the young people even beyond their time at school, thus ensuring that they don't lose sight of their goal.
