Due to the short sales routes, regional food protects the environment and the climate. But two Moehrendorf residents found that there is a dearth of regional products in many supermarkets and established “Regiomino” in 2014, an online platform that enables farmers and other regional producers to directly sell goods such as vegetables, cheese, and bread. Customers, e.g. from food retailing and restaurants, can choose from a wide range of products and have the food delivered to their home or a pick-up station. It’s a win-win situation for producers and consumers, and also benefits the rural economy and environment.
