RespAct – children help improve their neighbourhood
Strong children, strong democracy
An educational offer emboldens children and encourages them to help shape their neighbourhood
Overflowing rubbish bins, dog excrement, unfriendly neighbours - there are reasons why kids don't feel comfortable in their neighbourhood. With boxing and role-play, the Berlin project RespAct helps them recognize their strengths and encourages them to get involved in changing their city district. At "neighbourhood summits", they discuss their ideas with political and social leaders. Whether it's a street festival, donations for homeless people, or posters asking dog owners to refrain from leaving dog poo at playgrounds - young people learn that they can make a difference and get involved to promote themselves and their neighbourhood.
