Satellites circle the Earth and deliver endless information - for example, about soil subsidence caused by earthquakes, or the amount of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere. So far, this vast treasure trove of data has only been available to experts. So that companies and authorities can benefit from the information, too, the SAP Center for Digital Leadership is directing a programme that prepares geodata in beneficial ways. The data will help forecast natural disasters, analyse soil for farmers, and improve traffic flows. The aim is to build an open digital ecosystem for information from space that can be utilised in various areas.
