Jobs are hard to come by in the rural, structurally weak areas along the Lower Weser River. As a result, well-educated young people are moving away. In the school, business, and science network, companies, schools, local authorities, and scientific institutions are working together to make it easier for pupils and university graduates to embark on careers. With open days at the university, job information fairs, and campaigns to help people find jobs and apprenticeships, the network finds and promotes young specialists in the area, heightening the attractiveness of the entire Lower Weser region.
