The number of inhabitants in the Western Pomeranian town of Loitz has steadily decreased since the German reunification. What can the municipal authorities do to offer the people there a perspective? To find an answer, employees of the office responsible are surveying citizens. After the study is evaluated, a new residential district will be built tailored to the needs of its residents. An architectural competition will provide cross-generational solutions. On the basis of the survey, moreover, handbooks, checklists, and mobility offers will be developed aimed at helping the structurally week region accommodate the next generation.
