Telemedicine network for people who don't have access to medical care
Medical help – direct and everywhere
Telemedicine provides fast, expert medical aid to people in remote regions
In some regions of Germany there is a dearth of doctors, above all in rural areas and on the coasts, as well as on the islands and halligs. At the same time, the need for emergency medical care is growing due to the installation of offshore wind parks in the North Sea and the Baltic. Therefore the Klinikum Oldenburg and IQmed GmbH developed the telemedcine network. With it, top-quality medicine will be available in all regions of Germany and the world. A small device at the location transfers vital data of a person and high-resolution audio and video sequences to the medical centre via communications channels such as satellite or mobile phones. At the medical facility, doctors can then make a diagnosis and take the appropriate measures.
