VatiCAN security software
No chance for auto hackers
A computer programme prevents the manipulation of vehicles
Cars have long since become computers on four wheels. Their on-board computers are connected to the outside world through various interfaces – from WIFI hotspots to smartphone jacks – which gives hackers plenty of room for attack. For example, they can manipulate the brakes or make the car accelerate. The CISPA – Helmholtz Centre has developed a software update to prevent such attacks. Information from the vehicle network is only processed and commands are only followed if the correct authentication codes have been attached. Software that provides more security and increases consumer confidence.
