During the festival season, Wacken rocks out. The National Association of Music Schools in Schleswig-Holstein and its partners are using this opportunity to stoke young people’s enthusiasm for the rural region with new offers. A week after the open-air heavy metal festival, WACKEN MUSIC CAMP takes place. Embedded in a framework programme with regional initiatives, music is mainly played on real instruments. The young people have fun playing with professional musicians and equipment. They form their own bands, camp on the festival grounds, and write songs for a crowning concert.
