Every year, up to 2,000 people leave the Uckermark, although the region has undergone many positive developments for years. The health authorities are looking for staff and the industrial location Schwedt needs technicians. The association “At Home in Brandenburg”, together with the “Uckermarck Welcoming Agency”, is advertising new opportunities in the rural region. And it has been successful. Since it commenced its activities in 2013, the agency has supported more than 200 people who have moved or returned to the region. It helps new citizens find suitable jobs and appropriate real estate, and answers their questions about the school offer.
