She is young, talented, and open to experiments: since its founding in 2010, the Young North German Philharmonic has consciously broken with old listening habits and event formats. Sometimes the youth orchestra combines classical music with electro, sometimes with oriental folklore; sometimes it brings danceable chamber music to the stage, sometimes baroque compositions to clubs. And the musicians don't shy away from social issues: a jazz opera enables migrants' voices to be heard. And "Sitcom Opera" brings music into the living rooms of the Netflix generation as an online format. Hence young concert-goers actively engage with the musicians' work.
