ZukunftsHaus Wedding – meeting point for a whole city district
The whole neighbourhood in one building
With diverse offers a foundation has become a meeting point for neighbours of all nationalities and generations
One's own neighbourhood is always the best. When it comes to their "Kiez", the term used to denote the different districts in the city, Berliners are true patriots. Many look for ways of actively promoting their district and coming into contact with neighbours. The Paul Gerhardt Foundation offers possibilities. The ZukunftsHaus Wedding, a 140-year-old building, was opened for the neighbourhood as a kind of laboratory for social work. In addition to flats for refugee families and people in need of care, the foundation offers lots of space for various consulting and educational offers, ranging from a family cafe, to dance courses, to a clothing store. Many local partners are participating so that all Wedding residents feel welcome.
